- Case Statement Development
- Planned Giving
Capital, Endowment & Major Gift Campaigns
Nonprofits, regardless of size and experience, face particular challenges when undertaking capital, endowment, and major gift campaigns. EFS's campaign counsel helps insure that thorough planning and smart execution are hallmarks of every campaign or fund drive. Whether to renovate a building, to create an alternate source of funds, or to sustain a program, EFS has partnered with many nonprofits as they navigate successfully through the planning, design and implementation of major gift fund raising.
Feasibility Studies & Development Audits
EFS believes that nonprofits must periodically evaluate the fundamental assumptions underlying their fund-raising activities in order to continue to develop dedicated leaders and attract increasing levels of charitable giving. To aid in evaluation, EFS conducts feasibility studies to assess the fund-raising potential of clients' major new initiatives. We also conduct fund development audits, which are focused on an internal assessment of clients' current programs. The results of a well-conducted study and audit reveal the:
- Viability of a campaign goal, capacity of prospective donors, and likely support by constituency
- Desired organizational structure, including roles and responsibilities of staff and volunteers
- Community perceptions of an organization
Case Statement Development
Nonprofits make a critical mistake when they assume that donors understand precisely why their organization needs funds. Sometimes, leadership gets so fixated on the need for funds that they forget to build the case for support that illustrates the positive impact of the campaign on program/project. As part of an overall fund-raising plan, EFS works with clients to craft clear and compelling statements that turn the organization's vision and strategic plan into the "case" or reasons for giving.
EFS works with nonprofits to help them integrate or grow planned giving as part of their overall fund development program. The firm supports leadership as they work through the special challenges involved in pursuing gifts in the form of bequests or more sophisticated planned giving vehicles. To provide our clients with detailed technical issues, we rely on close working relationships with planned giving specialists.
